Original Arabic wording
Understand this hadith
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded those who intend to offer a sacrifice not to cut hair from their head, armpits, or mustache, nor to cut any of their fingernails or toenails until they have offered their sacrifice, once the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah has appeared.
Lessons from the hadith
- Whoever intends to offer a sacrifice after the beginning of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah should begin the abstention mentioned from the moment he makes the intention until he offers his sacrifice.
- If one does not offer the sacrifice on the first day, he should continue to abstain until he offers the sacrifice on any of the Days of Tashrīq.
