Understand this hadith +
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that the first cases to be settled on the Day of Judgment, regarding the injustices committed among people, would be the cases of blood like homicide and the infliction of wounds.
Lessons from the hadith
- The significance of the cases of blood, for what is most important always comes first.
- The gravity of sins depends on the amount of harm they cause, and killing an innocent soul is one of the gravest kinds of harm and nothing is graver than this except disbelief in Allah Almighty and associating partners with Him.

Understand this hadith +
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that anyone who has wronged his Muslim brother—whether in honor, wealth, or blood—must seek his pardon while still in this worldly life, before the Day of Judgment comes, where neither a gold dinar nor a silver dirham will benefit him as ransom. On that Day, compensation will be made by good and bad deeds: the one who was wronged will take from the good deeds of the wrongdoer in proportion to the injustice done to him. And if the wrongdoer has no good deeds, then the sins of the oppressed will be placed upon the oppressor, in equal measure to the wrong committed.
Lessons from the hadith
- The importance of being keen to avoid wrongdoing and transgression.
- An exhortation to hasten in clearing oneself from any unsettled dues or wrongs against others.
- Righteous deeds are corrupted and their reward is lost by wronging and harming others.
- The rights of people are not forgiven by Allah unless they are returned to their rightful owners.
- The dinar and dirham are means of gaining benefit in this worldly life, but on the Day of Judgment, only good and bad deeds will be of value.
- Some scholars have stated regarding the matter of honor: If the one who was wronged is unaware of the offense, there is no need to inform him. For example, if a person had insulted someone in a gathering and later repented, he does not need to tell the wronged person. Rather, he should seek forgiveness for him, supplicate for him, and speak well of him in the same gatherings where he used to insult him. By doing this, he clears himself of the transgression.

There is none among you except that Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between Him and him

Understand this hadith +
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that every believer will stand alone before Allah on the Day of Resurrection and that Allah Almighty will speak to him without an intermediary or interpreter between them to translate the words. He will look to the right and left out of extreme fear, hoping that he will find a way in which he can go and attain salvation from the Hellfire that lies in front of him. If he looks to the right side, he will see nothing but the good deeds he has sent forth. If he looks to his left, he will see nothing but the bad deeds he has sent forth. And if he looks ahead of him, he will see nothing but Hellfire and cannot turn away from it, as he must pass over the Sirāt (a bridge over Hellfire). Then, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Put a shield between yourselves and the Hellfire by charity and pious acts, even if it is something little, like half a date.
Lessons from the hadith
- The Hadīth urges giving out charity, adopting praisworthy traits, treating people gently, and speaking tenderly.
- It indicates Allah's closeness to His servant on the Day of Judgment since there is neither a barrier, an intermediary, nor a translator between them. So, a believer should beware of violating the command of his Lord.
- A believer should not underestimate anything he gives out in charity, even if it is little, for it grants protection against Hellfire.
