What you need to understand
Read slowly, take notes and ask about anything that is unclear. The goal is steady understanding—not rushing to the next number.
Wudu in a clear sequence
Intend purification, wash the face, wash the arms including the elbows, wipe the head and wash the feet including the ankles. Follow the Prophetic sequence and avoid wasting water.
Renew wudu after what nullifies it, such as using the toilet, passing wind or losing awareness in deep sleep. Ask a teacher about medical or personal circumstances.
The five prayer times
The obligatory prayers are Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. Use reliable local times, face the qiblah, cover what prayer requires and pray within the time.
Protect the obligations before adding many voluntary prayers. A stable five-prayer routine is your first major habit.
Learn salah by practice
Learn standing, recitation, bowing, prostration and the final sitting with a patient teacher. Begin memorizing Al-Fatihah carefully and keep a short reference beside you while learning.
Do not wait for perfect Arabic pronunciation before starting. Make a serious effort, accept correction and progress gently.

Important boundaries
- Speech-recognition tools cannot certify tajwid or the validity of your prayer.
- Personal issues such as illness, bleeding or inability to use water need an individual ruling from a qualified scholar.
