A broad meaning

Sincerity with Allah and goodwill towards people

Sincerity towards Allah means sincere worship; towards His Book, belief, learning and practice; towards His Messenger, belief in his message and following him.

Goodwill towards Muslims includes wanting good for them, teaching those who do not know, helping those in need and avoiding harm, according to knowledge and ability.

The manners of correction

Gentleness and privacy help

For a personal mistake, counsel is ordinarily private, specific, compassionate and based on verified facts.

Not every public correction is humiliation, and not every concealment is right. Public rights and interests require informed judgment from qualified people.
