Original Arabic wording
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقْرِئُنَا القُرْآنَ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ جُنُبًا.Understand this hadith
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach and recite the Qur’an to his Companions in all conditions, except when he was in a state of Janābah due to marital relations with his wives.
Lessons from the hadith
- It is impermissible for one in a state of Janābah to recite the Qur’an until he makes Ghusl (ritual bath).
- Teaching by actions.
