What this collection count means

Identical texts after normalisation are grouped within each book, with every reference retained. Different chains and wordings remain distinct. This is not a count of unique prophetic sayings, is not added to the explained encyclopedia total, and does not claim every authentic hadith across all literature.

Selection method and sources

For the four Sunan, a report requires an explicit accepted hadith-level grade. Records with a conflicting weak assessment or a non-prophetic/interrupted classification are excluded. A sound-chain judgment alone is insufficient. This is a conservative source-data filter, not new grading or a claim of consensus. Sahih collection texts retain their contextual comments and transmission routes.
